At least two policemen and three Taliban insurgents were killed in clashes in south-easte Paktika province, local officials said.

In addition, three other policemen and four Taliban insurgents were injured.

The clash took place in Mata Khan district of the province after Taliban insurgents attacked a police outpost on Monday night, according to officials.

However, officials did not provide more details about the clash.
