Unemployment and poverty has forced an artist to fix shoes in a bid to put food on the table for his family.
Murtaza Paiman, a performer, said that he tried hard to find a job, but failed because he didn't have enough contacts. He said he has now resorted to repairing shoes in Kabul city to ea a living but that his family is against his new profession.
Paiman graduated from Kabul Mechanical School and has worked in a Jangalak factory for some time.
Paiman, who has acted in dozens of plays over the years, said that he had also recorded songs for children's shows for a private TV channel and acted in comedy shows.
But when work dried up he was forced to tu his hand to something else. Paiman says he hopes that his children, who can speak foreign languages and know painting and calligraphy, will find jobs.
