12 Daesh Insurgents Killed in Nangarhar Blast

At least 12 Daesh insurgents were killed in a mine blast in easte Nangarhar province on Sunday, 201 Selab Military Corps said in a statement on Monday.

In addition, 21 other insurgents were injured.

The incident took place in Achin district of the province while insurgents were trying to plant a mine near a bazaar in the district, the statement said.

"The incident took place in Achin before they reached their target," it said.

There were no civilian casualties in the blast.

This comes a day after 24 Daesh insurgents were killed in ongoing military operations in Achin, 201 Selab Military Corps said in a statement on Sunday moing.

The operation was launched in Achin a few weeks ago.

"Most parts of Achin have been cleared of insurgents but the operation is ongoing," read the statement.

However, the statement did not provide further details or information on casualties among the security forces.
