At least four women were injured in a rocket attack in northe Baghlan province on Saturday night, local officials said.
The incident took place in Pul-e-Khumri, the capital of the province, after a missile landed in the city and injured four women, officials said.
Meanwhile, residents of Baghlan have raised their conces as such incidents have increased in the province, they say.
Merajuddin, one resident, said that "they told me that a missile landed in my home and four women were injured. One of them was transferred to the hospital and three others had minor injuries."
But officials at the govement hospital confirmed that two people were injured in the rocket attack and that both were taken to hospital for treatment.
Zabihullah Shuja, the head of police media in the province, said that the security forces have increased military operations to prevent such incidents.
"Since the military operation was launched, the insurgents have used heavy weapons against civilians because they are not able to face the security forces. So far they have fired 21 missiles into the city," he said.
However, in the past two weeks heavy clashes between the security forces and insurgents have been ongoing - leaving dozens of families displaced. Insurgents also recently disrupted the electricity supply from Tajikistan to Kabul leaving the capital in the dark.
