The Afghanistan National Cricket team has set Zimbabwe a steep target of 187 runs in the group match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2016 on Saturday afteoon.
Afghanistan ended off at 186 for 6 wickets in their last group match which will see the winner go through to the Super 10s alongside England, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies.
Afghanistan started off aggressively after winning the toss and elected to bat first. Mohammad Shahzad scored 40 runs from 23 balls.
The Afghan team lost early wickets but the middle order batsmen Samiullah Shenwar and Mohammad Nabi built a strong 98-run partnership. Nabi scored 52 runs before being run out during the 19.5 over.
Indian media sports statisticians state the highest target successfully chased by Zimbabwe was 140/5 against the Netherlands in WCT20 2014.
