At least nine Taliban commanders were killed in an Afghan air strike in central Ghazni province on Monday, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement.
In addition, 35 other insurgents were injured.
The air operation took place in Gailan district of the province after the Afghan air force targeted safe havens of the insurgents, the statement said.
"Mullah Saheb Khan and Mullah Khair Mohammad, head of intelligence of Taliban in Abband, Qarabagh and Moqur district, Mullah Nasaratullah, Mullah Nasim, Mullah Akmar, Mawlawi Khali and three Pakistani nationals who were involved in making of bombs and suicide vests are among the dead," it said.
However, the statement did not provided more details about the operation.
