At least one civilian was killed and five others including a police force member were wounded in an explosion in Herat city on Saturday moing, local officials said.

Herat police said the incident took place in Minarets Road in Herat city at around 10pm local time.

According to officials, the explosives were placed in a hand cart.

Meanwhile, Public Health Directorate in Herat said two of the wounded are in critical condition.
