Six Taliban Insurgents Killed in Helmand Night Raid

At least six Taliban insurgents were killed during a night raid by security forces in southe Helmand province on Monday night, local officials said.

In addition, four other insurgents were injured.

The night raid took place in Nehar-e-Seraj district of the province after the insurgents had gathered at safe havens, a spokesman for the provincial goveor Omar Zwak said.

"Two other Taliban insurgents were arrested. The insurgents wanted to carry-out attacks on Kandahar-Helmand highway police check posts," he said.

There were no casualties among security forces in the operation.
