More than 1,000 Afghan asylum seekers in Germany are willing to voluntarily retu to Afghanistan, said Afghan ambassador to Germany, Hamid Sediqi.

Sidiqi in an interview with TOLOnews said that 30 to 40 Afghan immigrants receive letters of voluntary repatriation on a daily basis from Afghanistan diplomatic missions in Germany.

"We are giving letters of voluntary repatriation to 30, 35 to 40 asylum seekers at the embassy and consulates on a daily basis," he added.

Sediqi urged the youth to stay in their country, because life in Germany is not as easy as it seems to be.

"My message to my countrymen is that they should never leave their country, because immigration to other countries is not a solution and the situation in Afghanistan will improve," he said.

Meanwhile, a large number of Afghan refugees are stranded in Serbia and Macedonia. The asylum seekers say that they sold all what they had to reach Europe.

However, it has reportedly been three weeks since Serbia and Macedonia closed their borders to them. The two countries are only allowing Iraqis and Syrians to go to Europe.

"My only dream is to live in a peaceful environment. Enough is enough. We have been at war for 40 years. I was bo and raised in war and now I am searching to find a peaceful place to live," said Menhazuddin, an Afghan asylum seeker in Greece.

"We have nothing in Afghanistan, because my family sold all what we had and they have come here with me. I don't know what our future will hold," said Ehsanullah Rahmati, an asylum seeker in Serbia.

Reports say that more than 220,000 Afghans have entered into European countries, particularly Germany, since the beginning of this year.
